The first image of this memories came unexpectedly to my mind and I had the sudden impulse of drawing it on the travel journal I had just started (it was summer 2004 and I was about to depart to the Dolomites and Croatia). Few days after I decided to start another sketchbook for my travel drawings and keep this just for memories. I havent drawn on it since june 2007 but I keep on taking notes. Of course this is not a finished work.

Sumergirse en el registro gráfico de tus memorias es toda una experiencia ¡me tienes fascinada y nostálgica a la vez! Yo también vivo en una ciudad diferente a aquélla en la que crecí, cerca de los abuelos (y aprendí a teclear en una lettera 32).En fin, gracias por tomarte el tiempo de compartir estas imágenes y su respectiva historia :)

These drawings were the first I ever saw of yours. They are sensational and I was blown away. The handwriting is as beautiful as the clean confident lines of the drawings. They, too, inpire me to do something similar. And the only problem that i have with them is that I cannot read the text!

ReplyDeleteMiguel, estuve mirando este trabajo con mas detenimiento en el cual puedo observar que fascinante ha sido tu ninez. Ojala pudiera yo, ilustrar mi ninez como lo has hecho tu. Me imagino a tu hijo ojeando este sketchbook dentro de par de anos y asi poder ver la ninez que tuvo su padre. Me inspiras mucho Miguel. Gracias!
ReplyDeleteMuchas gracias Edgar. No tuve una niñez ni más ni menos fascinante que la de cualquier niño pero si tengo un recuerdo fascinante de ella. Algunas personasde mi familia y algunos viejos amigos que conocieron lo que se ve aquí han comentado que algunas cosas no eran así. Yo les digo que nunca quise ser fiel a lo que ocurrió sino a mi recuerdo. Prefiero mi recuerdo de mi niñez a mi niñez. Y sí, claro que he pensado en mi hijo viendo este cuaderno dentro de algun tiempo!
